Pikoi Archery

Our Mission

One of the traditional styles of archery practiced on Kauai involved the use of lighter bows shooting at small targets from shorter distances. This is a great form of archery to practice in the islands. We aim to establish a group of young archers using this traditional style and support their development in archery for personal growth, development of focus, or even competition some day. For adults, Pikoi Archery offers an opportunity to support young archers (and adults enjoy this form of archery as well). Let’s hold some Pikoi Archery events and discovery why this form of archery may have been a favorite of some of Kauai’s traditional leaders.

Pikoi Archery Style

At the most basic level, Pikoi Archery involves placing a few small cones on the ground about 12 yards away. The archer sends arrows at the cones in the effort to move the cones from their original position. There are more aspects to Pikoi Archery. Please send an inquiry using the Request Information button to receive detailed information about the Pikoi Archery style.

Get Involved

We are looking for adults to support young people’s discovery of Pikoi Archery by supervising their use of archery equipment and supporting their efforts. Whether you’re an experienced archer or just interested to support youth development, your time and energy can help us grow a supportive community centered around focus, discipline, and fun.
